Elizabeth Koelmel, David Becker, Tim Sutton and Geet Sharma started Woodstock Travels in 2017 after completing a fourth service learning trip to India and Nepal with students from upstate New York. They were inspired to continue and expand these life-changing experiences for people of all ages.
On the ground in India and Nepal, we work with highly experienced local guides, small businesses, and activists who provide historical information and context for the sites we visit. Additional Woodstock Travels team members include attorney Hal Denton, General Counsel & Chief Risk Management Officer for student exchange organization AFS, one of the largest organizations of its kind in the world; and international insurance consultant Fiona Lally.
For five years we have organized unique and inspiring service learning trips to Nepal and India. Woodstock Travels (formerly Khusi Hona Woodstock) provides life-changing experiences through international service partnerships, art programs, media projects, and the magic of travel and adventure. What started with 3 students grew to include over 30 students from 6 schools with more than 10 partner organizations in India and Nepal.
